I’m Liz, Payroll Manager at Finerva and I have spent the last 15 years building my career in payroll, working across both industry and practice.
Before moving fully into payroll, I worked in accountancy and banking roles.
This broad background helped shape my wider understanding of business, finance and client support and gave me a strong understanding of the numbers behind the people and how payroll supports business in a practical, compliant and positive way.
At Finerva, I manage a diverse portfolio of clients, handling everything from day-to-day payroll processing and queries to providing advice on process and best practice. I’m passionate about delivering accurate, efficient payroll services and love the technical side of the role, but I get just as much enjoyment from the relationship side, getting to know our clients, and becoming a trusted partner in their journey.
I’m very lucky to live on the beautiful West Coast of Scotland with stunning views across to the Isle of Arran. On clear days, the sunsets are spectacular. I make the most of the outdoors with long beach walks and proper muddy countryside adventures, because no good walk ever ends with clean shoes. I also have an adrenaline-seeking side and love roller coasters and theme parks.
Over the years I’ve thrown myself off the top of a crane on a bungee cord and jumped out of a plane (safely strapped to a tandem skydiver) all for the thrill of it and to raise money for Dementia UK, a charity very close to my heart. I’m also a huge fan of musical theatre, watching not partaking. I leave the singing to the professionals, as my own efforts would be rather cruel on the audiences’ ears.
When the weather closes in, which it often does in Scotland, you’ll find me curled up with a good book getting lost in a story, attempting crafting or DIY projects (neither of which I’m particularly talented at, but I enjoy trying), or putting on my headphones and dancing like nobody’s watching because there is definitely fun to be had in this crazy trip we call life.
